LipiDye II <Lipid Droplet Green>

LipiDye II is a high sensitive, low cytotoxic and super-photostable fluorescent dye for Lipid Droplets (LDs).
For more detail, please click here.

Features

  • High S/N ratio: Low background in cytoplasm via following two features
    1) Specific accumulation into LDs
    2) Strong green fluorecent emission in non-polar oil phase like LDs
  • High sensitivity: Can observe even very small (<1 μm) LDs
  • Super photo-stability: Long-term live time lapse imaging is possible
  • Low cytotoxicity (at the recommended concentration (0.1~1μM))
  • Compatible with both live and fixed cell
  • Applicable to STED microscopy: can detect less than 500 nm LDs in HeLa cells.

Application Data

  • Staining of various cells (3T3-L1, HepG2, COS-7 and HeLa cells) for 12 hours
  • Staining of various cells with LipiDye II

FAOBlue <Fatty Acid Oxidation Detection Reagent>

FAOBlue can be easily incorporated into cells and be degraded by mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation (FAO). After FAO cycles, a blue fluorescent dye is released from the degraded reagent to whole cells. FAO inhibitor suppresses a release of the blue fluorescent dye.
For more detail, please click here.

Features

  • Can detect FAO activity directly.
  • Easy procedure with no special equipment.
  • Can detect perturbation of lipid-degradation by drug treatment quantitatively
→ Help to estimate effects of drug candidates on lipid metabolism

Application data

  • Visualization of FAO activities in 4 cancer cell lines
  • Visualization of FAO activities in 4 cancer cell lines

    LipiDye-M <Multi-Color Lipid Metabolic Tracer>

LipiDye-M is a novel fluorescent dye-labeled C12 fatty acid with a negative solvatochromic dye called 3a-azapyren-4-one (AP). Once LipiDye-M is taken up into cells, the C12 fatty acid group is converted into many types of lipids, and degraded to small metabolites, accordingly the cellular localization of this dye changes from cytosol to lipid droplets via organelle and exhibits green to red via yellow, respectively.
LipiDye-M can trace status of cellular fatty acid uptake and lipid metabolism in cells. For more detail, please click here.

Three colors merged imaging for LipiDye-M metabolites

    Features

    • Green fluorescence in high polarity (cytosol), yellow fluorescence in moderate polarity (organelle membranes) and red fluorescence in low polarity (lipid droplets)
    • Three-color imaging (green, yellow and red) of lipid metabolism by merging images from a green channel (Ex. 450-490 nm / Em. 490-540 nm) and red channel (Ex. 550-600 nm / Em. 570-620 nm)

    Application data

    • Distribution of LipiDye-M metabolites in live HepG2
    • LipiDye-M metabolites in live HepG2
