Bactobolamine (BBL) is a synthetic derivative of a metabolite of bactobolin A from Pseudomonas genus. 1) Bactobolamine suppresses proliferative lymphocytic responses such as concanavalin A induced lymphoblast formation, and it induces significant prolongation of allograft survival. 2) Low-dose combination of bactoblamine and tacrorimus (FK506) prolongs markedly the survival of rat liver allografts. It was also reported that low-dose combination of bactobolamine and cyclosporine A (CyA) inhibits human mixed-lymphocyte reaction (MLR). 3)
