Benanomicin B is an antibiotic isolated from the culture fluid of Actinomadura sp. MH193-16F4.^1,2)
Benanomicin B prevented human T-cells from HIV-1 at 10~100 µg/mL and inhibited syncytium formation by HIV-1 at 10~100 µg/mL.³⁾ The antifungal and anti HIV-1 activities of benanomicins and their analogues have been studied.⁴⁾ It also showed good antibacterial activity against Candida, Cryptococcus and Saccharomyces, etc.
