R&D Systems offers a Mouse CXCL4/PF4 Quantikine ELISA Kit (#MCX400). Platelet Factor 4, also known as CXCL4, is a member of the CXC chemokine family. It is synthesized by megakaryocytes and stored in platelet alpha-granules. Secretion of CXCL4/PF4 from activated platelets affects coagulation by influencing the enzymatic activity of Coagulation Factor X, enhancing the production of activated Protein C, regulating Thrombin-Thrombomodulin complexes, and promoting platelet aggregation. In addition, CXCL4/PF4 has been shown to be involved in monocyte survival and macrophage differentiation, and to have anti-proliferative, anti-angiogenic, and anti-microbial effects. The Mouse CXCL4/PF4 Quantikine ELISA Kit is designed to measure the concentration of CXCL4 in cell culture supernates, serum, and platelet-poor plasma.
Assessment of the Levels of CXCL4/PF4 using the Quantikine ELISA Kit.
The levels of CXCL4/PF4 in twenty individual mouse serum and platelet-poor EDTA or Heparin plasma samples were measured using the Mouse CXCL4/PF4 Quantikine ELISA Kit (#MCX400). The mean level of CXCL4/PF4 detected in each of the sample types is shown.
