Cyclamidomycin (synonyms: Desdanine) is obtained from the cultures of Streptomyces sp.MA130-A1¹⁾. While small molecule (less than M.W.140), it inhibits nucleoside diphosphate kinase of Escherichia coli²⁾ and the growth of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria^{2, 3)}.
Also, cyclamidomycin inhibits plaque formation of male-specific coliphages and suppress the multiplication of both RNA phage Qβ and filamentous DNA phage f1 ⁴⁾.
