Chondroitin sulfate oligosaccharide is a low-molecular-weight, non-enzymatic product of natural high molecular weight chondroitin sulfate extracted and purified from the cartilage of stingrays caught in Hokkaido.
Products containing high amounts of chondroitin sulfate A (CS-A rich)*1, non-sulfated chondroitin oligosaccharides, and high molecular weight chondroitin sulfate are also available.
*1 CS-A rich series is derived from pig cartilage.

Background

Chondroitin sulfate is a high-molecular substance with a molecular weight in the hundreds of thousands, consisting of multiple disaccharide bonds of glucuronic acid (GlcA) and sulfated N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc). "Nano-type Chondroitin" is a low-molecular-weight oligosaccharide of chondroitin sulfate produced by a non-enzymatic microchemical process.

GG: N-acetyl-D-galactosamine at both ends.
The molecular weight of chondroitin sulfate oligosaccharides is based on the assumption that Na is added to all sulfate groups and glucuronic acid is in the proton form.
Even-numbered oligosaccharides have the [GlcA-GalNAc (6S)] structure but contain 20-30% of the [GalNAc (6S)-GlcA] structure.

  • The main sugar composition is 2 to 12 sugars.
  • It dissolves easily in water (Water-soluble test).
  • It is made from 100% natural ingredients grown in Hokkaido, so there is no traceability problem.
  • In an absorption test using reversed intestinal absorption, it was confirmed that the absorption was at least 40 times greater than that of high molecular weight chondroitin (Absorption test).
  • It was confirmed that the interaction with various cytokines was maintained and that the bioactivity was equivalent to that of high molecular weight chondroitin sulfate.
  • It has been confirmed that it inhibits lipid droplet accumulation in adipocytes.
  • It has been confirmed that it suppresses obesity in mice fed a high-fat diet.
  • It has been confirmed that it suppresses arthritis caused by autoimmune diseases more effectively than high molecular weight chondroitin sulfate (Anti-inflammatory test).
  • It has been confirmed in human intervention studies that it is safe and effective in improving locomotive syndrome (Figure 5).
