Perlecan-conjugated Laminin E8 fragment (perLAM) is a cell culture substrate that mimics the basement membrane in living organisms. perLAM can reproduce the extracellular environment of living organisms in cell culture systems.
Cells understand their environment, recognize their position, and work methodically with other cells around them. In cell culture, biological activities of cells are expected to be different because their environments are significantly different from those in living organisms. perLAM was developed based on the idea that it is important to reproduce the extracellular environment in order to show the same biological activities in cell culture and living organisms. So, the product is expected to contribute implementation of regenerative medicine, animal testing alternatives, etc.

What is Perlecan?
Perlecan is a multifunctional protein found in the basement membrane. It acts as a structural and signaling hub - binding important growth factors and interacting with matrix components to support cell growth, communication, and differentiation. Its unique Heparan Sulfate (HS) chains allow it to capture and stabilize molecules like bEGF, making the surrounding matrix more than just a scaffold - it becomes an active, instructive environment.
Why use Perlecan-conjugated Laminin E8?
It is known that Heparan sulfate (HS) chain exists at Domain I of Perlecan. By fusing the region with the Laminin E8 fragment, Perlecan-Conjugated Laminin E8 fragment is developed as a next-generation cell culture matrix. This fusion matrix can be expected to induce differentiation induction from pluripotent stem cell cultures with high efficiency.

perLAM-521
perLAM-521 is a cell adhesive matrix with conjugation of Perlecan Domain I and Laminin-521 E8.
Features
- Laminin E8 fragment enables stable large scale cell cultures of pluripotent stem cells by binding specifically and strongly to integrin in cells.
- It can be used as an addition method (adding to cell suspension) that does not require a coating operation.
- The heparan sulfate chains in Perlecan Domain I efficiently capture growth factors such as bFGF and deliver them to receptors on the cell surface.
- It enhances the differentiation induction of hiPS cells into the ectoderm or mesoderm.
- This product, which is cell culture matrix for 2D culture, is produced as a recombinant protein mixture containing no unknown components and is supplied with consistent performance and quality.

perLAM-421 is a cell adhesive matrix with conjugation of Perlecan Domain I and Laminin-421 E8.
