Inhibitory activity to prostaglandin synthesis Pronqodine A

Pronqodine A which was isolated from culture filtrate of Streptomyces is a bioactive compound with a quinone structure. It was reported that the compound inhibited synthesis of bradykinin-induced prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), 6-keto-PGF1α, and PGD2, which are associated with anti-inflammatory activity in a human synovial sarcoma cell line, SW 982 (IC₅₀: 9, 19, and 7 nM, respectively).¹⁾ In addition, pronqodine A and its analog (N-Benzyl-N-Demethylpronqodine A) showed an inhibitory activity toward indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO).²⁾

Pronqodine A inhibited synthesis of bradykinin-induced prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), 6-keto-PGF1α, and PGD2, which are associated with anti-inflammatory activity in a human synovial sarcoma cell line, SW 982 (IC₅₀: 9, 19, and 7 nM, respectively).¹⁾
It was also reported that pronqodine A had an inhibitory activity toward indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO).²⁾
