Easy DNA extraction kit from tough tissues (Tooth or Bone)
TBONE EX KIT
So far, it has been a burdensome task to get DNA from tough tissues such as tooth and bone, as the samples should be ground into powder before extraction. Furthermore, this method may cause contamination.
TBONE EX KIT allow you to skip this burdensome sample preparation step before extraction.
Without grinding, genomic DNA can be extracted. The obtained DNA can be used for further analysis, such as mitochondrial DNA sequencing, short tandem repeat (STR) genotyping etc.
NOTE
During DNA extraction procedure, a conventional DNA extraction kit is also required.

A-1. No, only DNA can be extracted by this KIT.
Q-2. Can TBONE EX KIT extracte samples from animals?
A-2. To Apply TBONE EX KIT to animal samples is out of warranty.
Q-3. Which part should be picked from bone sample?
A-3. Any part can be used.
Q-4. Which kit is recommended to purify DNA?
A-4. We recommend QIAamp DNA Blood Mini Kit and QIAamp DNA Investigator Kit.
Q-5. Will DNA yield be better if the sample is ground?
A-5. It depends on the sample condition. There are reports that grinding samples increases the yield of DNA. (Kitayama, et al., Legal Medicine, 12:84-89(2010))
Q-6. Can TBONE EX KIT extract DNA from damaged bone samples?
A-6. Yes, according to the reference, bone sample of over 60 years has been extracted successfully .
