Glycation is one of the processes of post translation for proteins by carbonyl, and its end products are called Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs). It is reported that AGEs are increased not only by aging or diabetes, but by inflammation and oxidative stress.
Strong Point
- There are Nω-carboxymethyl arginine (CMA) and Nε- carboxymethyl lysine (CML) as AGE standard.
- In addition to AGE standards, there is specific monoclonal antibody, which is useful as AGE study.
