Blasticidin S is a nucleoside antibiotic useful for the selection of transformants carrying blastocystidin-resistant genes.
What is Blasticidin S
Blasticidin S is a nucleoside antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces griseochromogenes and inhibits protein synthesis in a wide range of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells through inhibition of peptide-bound-formation in the ribosomal machinery. Blasticidin S is an useful tool for the selection of transformants carrying bsr or BSD resistance genes.
