HemExTM media are serum-free, and chemically-defined media for hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) from human (HemExTM;-TypeH) or mouse (HemExTM-Type9AØ). HemExTM series simply contain Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium-Ethanolamine (ITS-X) as supplement, which allows flexible combination of cytokines and small molecules, and enable expansion of HSCs.

Specification
- This medium is new improved version for HemExTM-Type9A.
- This medium allows expansion of HSCs from single bone marrow-derived (BM) HSC by using newly developed supplement with high molecular weight compounds instead of PVA which was used in the previous version, HemExTM-Type9A.
- This medium can be combined with genome editing tools to allow transplantation using genetically engineered homogeneous populations of cells.
* This medium requires the addition of cytokines for culturing HSC.

Specification
- This product which is an albumin-free basal medium enables long-term growth of hematopoietic stem cells which has been difficult to cultivate.
- This product allows to cultivate the cells reducing lot-to-lot variability and enables large-scale culturing of human hematopoietic stem cells maintaining undifferentiated condition. This is realized by adding newly developed high molecular weight pharmaceutical additives and substances* that show biological functions binding to receptors of cytokines etc.
* The required additives are Butyzamide, 740Y-P (CAS No. 236188-16-1), UM729, Flt3L (Peprotech #AF-300-19) .
L-Glutamine (Final concentration: 4 mM) should also be supplemented.
