α-Galactosylceramide (α-Gal-Cer; KRN7000) is a glycosphingolipid orignally isolated of Agelas mauritianus, the marine sponge in Okinawa. It has attracted attention for its antitumor activity.
7DW8-5, derivative of α-Gal-Cer, shows 100-fold stronger adjuvant effect against natural killer T(NKT) cells than α-Gal-Cer.
