CD4 was detected in immersion fixed canine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) using Mouse Anti-Canine CD4 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2410) at 25 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; Catalog # NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. | background_content | Background: CD4 CD4 is a type I membrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed predominantly on thymocytes and a subset of mature T lymphocytes. CD4 functions in collaboration with the T cell receptor in the recognition of peptide antigens that are presented by class II major histocompatibility complexes. CD4 also has been shown to be a coreceptor of HIV entry and specifically binds gp120, the external envelope glycoprotein of HIV. |
