Un-infected (-) and infected (+, JEV infection) BHK-21 whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 15% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Core protein C (JEV) antibody (GTX131368) at a dilution of 1:3000 and developed with Trident femto Western HRP Substrate (GTX14698). The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. |

| Background | The small proteins NS2A, NS4A and NS4B are hydrophobic, suggesting a possible membrane-related function. Non-structural protein 2B is a required cofactor for the serine protease function of NS3. Serine protease NS3 displays three enzymatic activities: serine protease, NTPase and RNA helicase. NS3 serine protease, in association with NS2B, cleaves the polyprotein. RNA-directed RNA polymerase NS5 replicates the viral (+) and (-) genome, and performs the capping of genomes in the cytoplasm. NS5 methylates viral RNA cap at guanine N-7 and ribose 2'-O positions. |
