ChIP was performed with HeLa extracts and either control IgG (1 ug) or Histone H3K9me3 (tri-Methyl Lys9) antibody ( 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 and 5 ug per ChIP experiment). The precipitated DNA was detected by primers targeting to positive controls ZNF510 and the Sat2 satellite repeat, and to negative controls the promoter of the active genes GAPDH and c-fos.
