R&D Systems now offers Recombinant Mouse Cadherin-13 (#6768-CA ). Cadherin-13, also known as T-Cadherin and H-Cadherin, is an atypical member of the Cadherin superfamily of calcium-dependent adhesion molecules. It is anchored to the plasma membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage and may act as a signaling receptor. Cadherin-13 is most highly expressed in the circulatory and nervous systems, particularly on cardiac myocytes, vascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and neurons and astrocytes in the brain. It has been shown to negatively regulate neurite extension, and to mediate the cardioprotective effects of Adiponectin. In addition, Cadherin-13 is involved in regulating angiogenesis and tumor cell proliferation in a variety of different cancers.

Cadherin-13 Inhibits the Adhesion of HUVECs.
Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were added to culture plates coated with increasing concentrations of Recombinant Mouse Cadherin-13 (#6768-CA). After 2 hours, the plates were washed and the number of adherent cells was assessed.
