R&D Systems now offers a Human/Mouse/Rat Neural Progenitor Cell Marker Antibody Panel (#SC025). Neural progenitor (NP) cells reside in several areas of the embryonic and adult central nervous system and are capable of self renewal and differentiation into neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. The new panel can be used to identify and characterize human, mouse, or rat NP cell populations by immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry. It includes antibodies against CXCR4, SSEA-1, SOX1, SOX2, Musashi-1, Notch-1, Nestin, and Vimentin.

Detection of Neural Progenitor Cells using Antibodies in the Human/Mouse/Rat Neural Progenitor Cell Marker Antibody Panel (#SC025).
(A) Rat cortical stem cells (#NSC001) or (B) mouse cortical stem cells (#NSC002) were labeled with anti-Nestin (red) or anti-Musashi (green), respectively. Flow cytometry was used to assess rat cortical stem cells (C) or mouse cortical stem cells (D) labeled with anti-SSEA-1or anti-CXCR4, respectively (filled histograms). Open histograms show staining with the appropriate isotype controls.
