R&D Systems offers Recombinant Mouse FGF-10 (#6224-FG). Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) constitute a large family of proteins involved in many aspects of development, including cell proliferation, growth, and differentiation. FGF-10 is a secreted glycoprotein that belongs to a subfamily of FGFs that also includes FGF-3, -7, and -22. FGF-10 associates with FGF-BP and preferentially binds and activates epithelial cell FGF R2. The mitogenic and chemotactic properties of FGF-10 are required for multiple processes during embryonic development. These include limb bud initiation, branching morphogenesis and directional outgrowth of lung buds, formation of the otic vesicle and cochlea, palate development, adipogenesis, and the development of prostate, mammary, lacrimal and salivary glands.
