R&D Systems is now offering recombinant mouse HVEM/TNFRSF14 (Catalog # 2516-HV ). Herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM) is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily. HVEM is highly expressed on naive, memory, and regulatory T cells where it serves as a receptor for BTLA in the absence of T cell activation, or for the TNF family ligand, LIGHT, following activation. Interrupting BTLA/HVEM interaction promotes intestinal inflammation, while disrupting LIGHT/HVEM binding on activated T cells can ameliorate graft-vs-host disease and Th1-type intestinal inflammation.
