Its production is upregulated in airway epithelium, alveolar macrophages, eosinophils, smooth muscle cells, chondrocytes, and fibroblasts following allergen or inflammatory challenge. CCL11 is also involved in the growth of myeloid cell progenitors and the differentiation of mast cells. |
