	Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 15% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Iba1 (isoform 1 and 3) antibody, C-term (GTX89792) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. Corresponding RNA expression data for the same cell lines are based on Human Protein Atlas program.

Cellular Localization	Associated with the actin cytoskeleton at membrane ruffles and at sites of phagocytosis.
Background	This gene is induced by cytokines and interferon. Its protein product is thought to be involved in negative regulation of growth of vascular smooth muscle cells, which contributes to the anti-inflammatory response to vessel wall trauma. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]
