Integrins are a family of transmembrane, heterodimeric receptors that regulate adhesive interactions between adjacent cells and/or the extracellular matrix (ECM). Integrin alpha V beta 3 is a heterodimer of alph aV/CD51 and beta 3/CD61 subunits, and is expressed by melanoma cells, endothelial cells, osteoclasts, and at very low levels by platelets. Active cell surface Integrin alphaVbeta3 adheres to Vitronectin, Fibronectin, Fibrinogen, and Thrombospondin in the ECM. These interactions mediate cell adhesion, proliferation, and motility in processes such as angiogenesis, osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, and tumor metastasis. The Human Integrin alpha V beta 3 DuoSet IC ELISADevelopment Kit contains capture and detection antibodies, streptavidin-HRP, and an appropriate protein standard. Multiple pack sizes are available.

Detection of Integrin alpha V beta 3 using the DuoSet IC ELISA Development System. Lysates prepared from the A549 human lung adenocarcinoma and UT-7 human acute myeloid leukemia cell lines were assessed for Integrin alpha V beta 3 using the Human Total Integrin alpha V beta 3 DuoSet IC ELISA Development System (Catalog # DYC3050; bar graph).
