This bead-based assay is designed to simultaneously determine the concentrations of multiple biomarkers in a single sample of primate serum or EDTA plasma using Luminex® technology. The kit includes a panel of pre-mixed, color-coded microparticles coated with antibodies that specifically recognize Eotaxin, IFN-gamma, IL-1 beta, IL-2, IL-5, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, MCP-1, MIP-1 beta, or TNF-alpha. The captured analytes are subsequently detected using a cocktail of biotinylated detection antibodies and a streptavidin-phycoerythrin (PE) conjugate. A dual laser microparticle analyzer, such as the Luminex 200™, is used to determine the color of each bead and the magnitude of thePE-derived signal, which is proportional to the amount of analyte bound.

Simultaneous Measurement of Multiple Primate Biomarkers in Serum Samples. The concentrations of multiple proteins were simultaneously assessed in samples of normal primate serum using the Primate Fluorokine MultiAnalyte Profiling 11-Plex Kit (Catalog #LKT006. IL-2 and IFN-gamma were detected in 8% of the samples, TNF-alpha was detected in 15% of the samples, and the others were detected in greater than 95% of the samples.
