R&D Systems now offers a human Clusterin Quantikine ELISA Kit (Catalog #DCLU00). Clusterin, also known as ApoJ, Sulfated Glycoprotein 2, TRPM-2, and SP-40, is a secreted protein that may function as a chaperone of misfolded extracellular proteins. Clusterin neutralizes non-oxidatively modified low density lipoprotein to reduce cytotoxicity in atherosclerotic plaques, and helps to reduce the accumulation of beta-amyloid fibrils in Alzheimer's disease. In addition, it is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, apoptosis, and carcinogenesis. Increased circulating levels of Clusterin enhance tumor aggressiveness by inhibiting apoptosis and promoting the epithelial to mesenchymal transition. The human Clusterin Quantikine ELISA is designed to measure thelevels of Clusterin in cell culture supernatants, serum, plasma, urine, and saliva.

| Assessment of Clusterin Levels in Cell Culture Supernatants using the Quantikine ELISA Kit. Aliquots of cell culture supernatants from HepG2 human hepatocellular carcinoma cells, HeLa human cervical epithelial cells, and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) were assayed using the human Clusterin Quantikine ELISA Kit (Catalog #DCLU00). |
