R&D Systems now offers a Human Inflammation Fluorokine MultiAnalyte Profiling 12-Plex Kit (Catalog #LKT005). This bead-based assay is designed to simultaneously determine the concentrations of multiple inflammation-related proteins in a single sample of human serum or plasma using Luminex® technology. The kit includes a panel of pre-mixed, color-coded microparticles coated with antibodies that specifically recognize IL-1 beta, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12, GM-CSF, IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, or VEGF. The captured analytes are subsequently detected using a cocktail of biotinylated detection antibodies and a streptavidin-phycoerythrin (PE) conjugate. A dual laser microparticle analyzer, such as the Luminex 200™, is then used to determine the color of each bead and themagnitude of the PE-derived signal, which is directly proportional to the amount of analyte bound.
