R&D Systems now offers a human/mouse/rat Phospho-RPS6 (S235/S236) DuoSet IC ELISA Development System (Catalog # DYC3918). Ribosomal Protein S6 (RPS6) is a major substrate for protein kinases in the eukaryotic ribosome. Phosphorylation of RPS6 on several conserved serine residues (S235, S236, S240, and S244) enhances the translation of mRNAs containing an oligopyrimidine tract at their transcriptional start sites. This phosphorylation can be stimulated by growth factors, tumor-promoting agents, and other mitogens. Each Phospho-RPS6 DuoSet IC ELISA Development Kit contains capture and detection antibodies, streptavidin-HRP, and an appropriate protein standard. Multiple pack sizes are available. | | Growth Factor Treatment Induces RPS6 (S235/S236) Phosphorylation. Lysates prepared from PC12 rat pheochromocytoma cells, untreated or treated with recombinant rat beta-NGF (Catalog #556-NG), were assessed for RPS6 phosphorylation using the human/mouse/rat Phospho-RPS6 (S235/S236) DuoSet IC ELISA Development System (Catalog #DYC3918; bar graph). Similar results were obtained by traditional Western blot analysis using the same lysates and anti-human/mouse/rat Phospho-RPS6 (S235/S236) polyclonal antibody (Catalog #AF3918; inset). |
