ST2 is a glycoprotein belonging to the IL-1 receptor family that is expressed on mast cells, activated Th2 cells, macrophages, and cardiac myocytes. IL-33 binds to ST2, inducing its association with IL-1 RAcP and promoting the upregulation of inflammatory cytokines in Th2 and mast cells.
