| Owing to deep research experience in HBV envelop, Beacle launches quantitative ELISA kits targeted to varous HBsAg domains. Three types of HBsAg is known; named S-, M- and L-antigen. L-antigen is consisted of S, Pre-S2 and Pre-S1 domains, M-antigen of S and Pre-S2 domains, and S-antigen of S domain alone. These domains play important role in HBV infection. Pre-S1 domain is known to be the key element in recognizing hepatic cells, Pre-S2 and S is important in cellular invasion fo HBV. The serum level of S-antigen (or S-domain) is well studies as a tool to daignose the HBV infection, but almost no study was conducted to examine the serum level of Pre-S1 and Pre-S2. Beacle, by marketing ELISA kit to detect these domains, wishes to contribute studies of HBV infection. |

Fibrinogen is one of major component of plasma, and is a hexamer composed of pairs of three polypeptides (α-, β- and γ-chain). Prolyl hydroxylation is known to be essential for folding, secretion, and stability of collagen triple helix.
In the powerful study using 2-Dimensional Image Converted Analysis of Liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (2DICAL), it is found that proline 565 and 530 residues in α-fibrinogen is hydroxylated by the Prolyl hydroxylase P4HA1. In addition, the plasma level of prolyl 4-hydroxylated α-fibrinogen (HP-FGA) was increased in individuals who suffer pancreatic cancer. The significant difference between the said group (n=43) and healthy subjects (n=43) was observed in the 2-DICAL analysis. |
